Furniture back where it belongs
For Triennale der Moderne 2016 original Bauhaus-era furniture was shown in the former labour office by Walter Gropius. Not in a display case, but inside the building this design attitude was developed for.
The arrangement follows the structure of the rooms. Visitors walk between the pieces and see them at the scale and in the light they were once designed for.
Restraint as a concept
With exhibits like these the hardest decision is what to leave out. Plinths, labelling and light are kept so sparse that the furniture and the room keep the attention.
