Light in a building by Walter Gropius
The former labour office in Dessau was built in 1929 to plans by Walter Gropius. For Triennale der Moderne 2016 a light installation was created there that picks up the geometry of the semicircular building and makes it visible after dark.
The line follows the architecture instead of overlaying it. Visitors read the space differently than by day, without anything being changed about the building.
Working in a listed building
Strict rules apply in a listed building. Nothing may be fixed permanently or damaged, and everything has to be removable without a trace. Those conditions shape the construction from the start.
